Defining wiki, in its simplest terms, is an online platform that provides content for users by users. One main component of wiki that users love is that users have access to alter the site’s content. With this sort of ability, users have the power to create the content being displayed on the internet. Wiki supports collaborative learning, independent thinking, critical assessing skills, and self-expression of ideas and thinking. In the classroom, there are several wiki sites that can push students critical-thinking and assessing skills. Sites like Wiki spaces allows students to have an online platform to write personal opinions and thoughts in an organized manner. Wiki sites can also be used as a safe space to communicate the content being taught, allowing students to learn on their own while partaking in online learning. I have always felt that technology should be integrated into the classroom as students are more engaged and eager to learn which is why wiki is a great resource!
